11-year-old boy commits suicide in church in Siaya

The young boy was in class four

Mrs. Everline Abong’o, the school’s headteacher said the body of the boy who was still dressed in school uniform was discovered by a passer-by with a rope round his neck.

Humble

Mrs. Abong’o, who described the boy as a jovial and humble pupil, said the pupil had left home for school only for him to be found dead several hours later.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi, the headteacher said the reason behind the suicide is still unclear as he did not leave behind any suicide note.

The boy’s body was moved to Madiany Sub-county hospital mortuary as police kicked off investigations into the incident.
