The disturbing craze which appears to have taken off on YouTube sees people douse themselves in flammable liquid and then set themselves alight.

Timiyah attempted to take part after her mum Brandi Owens had made her and two friends pancakes.

After mum had left them alone she heard a “loud explosion” a few minutes later and Timiyah was engulfed in flames and came running and screaming down the hall.

Her stepfather put her in the bath and sprayed her with water while mum tore off her clothes.

She was then rushed to hospital where she is still in intensive care.
