For whatever reason the relationship ends, it’s never a pleasant thing to go through. We all have exes that we are 100% cool to never communicate or meet again in our lives.

For whatever reason the relationship ends, it’s never a pleasant thing to go through. We all have exes that we are 100% cool to never communicate or meet again in our lives. But we still have those ones who when they call you in the middle of the night, deep within us we are ready to listen to them and at times, going back again….if situation is right.

Getting back to your ex is not easy, in fact, men, why do you always creep back after we have cried our sorrows away, plus did so many things to get over you? Like the devil, you always crawl with a text or call. I am sure I am not the only woman who wishes to understand how you know to time it just right?

I digress, if you are considering going back to the ex, here are some things to bear in mind before making that bold step

Reason for breakup

Why did the relationship end in the first place? Regardless of how you broke up, running back to an old flame needs you to examine if there is any change from first time failure, or you will just be re-writing another failed relationship that you saw coming.

Us unpleasant as it may be, do not swipe this under the carpet.

Forgiveness

After it all said and done, are you able to forgive him/her, have you moved past your hurt? You can’t afford to go back to a relationship and in every glance; all you see is the wrongs and mistakes of your partner.

If you can’t see past the past, aren’t you lying to yourself and wasting each other’s time? Time has passed; you have both grown and changed.

Reason to try again

Ex-couples tend to drift back together not because they really want to be together, but because there is no-one else around and the power of nostalgia is too strong to ignore.

So o you want to get back because you are lonely/sex/familiarity? Do you really think there’s something positive and healthy worth pursuing with your ex? Evaluate your real reason to want to get back to your ex before you get hurt, once again.

If s/he didn't do it right the first time, how do you know they will do it right second time?
