These bell like peppers contain cayenne that helps control high cholesterol levels or artery blockage. Cayenne is a vasodilator that relaxes the blood vessels.

When it comes to gastrointestinal problems, capsicum will fix it. It assists with issues like flatulence, stomach upset, diarrhea and even abdominal cramps.

4. Pain reliever

Capsicums also contain capsain that prevents transmission of pain signals to the brain by blocking the sensory nerves in the affected area. Medicine with cayenne are used to treat headaches, nerve pains amongst others.

5. Prevents diabetes

Another significant benefit of cayenne is steadying the blood sugar levels in the body. Rumor has is that it can even treat type 1 diabetes!

They are also a great source of Vitamin C which is responsible for general health by boosting immunity and prevent scurvy.

7. Vitamin B6 and Magnesium

Speaking of vitamins, these peppers are also a rich source of magnesium and Vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 is a diuretic that helps reduce anxiety, bloating and hypertension.

8. Increases iron absorption

Vitamin C is also great for absorption of iron. Research shows that you can treat iron deficiencies by adding the amount of capsicum in your meals.
