Government’s announcement after NASA told Kenyans to boycott NTV, Nation Newspapers

Hours after NASA told the public to boycott NTV and Nation newspapers, The Government has now announced that all..

During a rally in Kamukunji grounds, Orengo announced that people should not watch NTV accusing the media house of being bias.

“From today, you should not buy the Nation newspaper. Do not watch NTV because it is not reporting the truth.

“Only the international media are doing so. No buying Nation newspaper or tuning to NTV until they start telling the truth,” Orengo said.

However, Mucheru condemned the remarks stating that the media had done a good job in covering the Elections.

“To single out particular newspapers and TV stations for attack simply because of their opinions is not only unconstitutional but it is an assault on the very foundation upon which Kenya’s democracy is founded.

“I, therefore, condemn the reckless, inciting and thoughtless attack on the country’s free press by NASA leaders,” the ICT secretary stated.

The Opposition has accused the media house of failing to air the truth about what was happening in the country.
