3 things you should do after eating too much sugar

Fixing a sugar rush.

Taking too much sugar can lead to spiked blood sugar levels which can increase sugar cravings.

It can also lead to weight gain as excess glucose is converted into fat by the body.

Here are three things you should do to reduce harmful effects of taking too much sugar.

1. Stabilize your blood sugar

This can be done by eating slow digesting protein and fibre. Such as a hard boiled egg or vegetables.

2. Eat something filling later

Prepare a healthy meal to have when your blood sugar crashes.

3. Eat food with good bacteria

These are known as probiotic foods. Bacteria present in your digestive system may consume the excess sugar and affect your cognitive function. Eating probiotic foods like yoghurt or kefir helps counteract the "bad" bacteria present in the gut.
