7 consistent habits of happy people

How to be happy

Happy people

I always console myself and say that life would probably be super boring if all was alright and we had no troubles don’t you think? The downfalls make us stronger and help us appreciate the little joys of life. If you’re going through a dark period in your life, you’re not alone. Literally everyone you interact with or meet is going through their own struggles. But you cannot let sadness take over your life.

Here are things to need to quit if you want to be happy:

1. Comparing yourself to your peers.

You do not know what your friends have done or been through to get to where they are. Plus, in this social media era, people only show you what they want you to see. We are all destined for different lives. Stay in your own lane and live your life without subjecting yourself to unnecessary pressure.

2. Get rid of any toxicity in your life.

Honestly, life is too short to be stuck in unhealthy situations. Relationships, friendships or jobs that are not adding any value in your life are not good for you. Do yourself a favor and just let go.

3. Speaking of letting go, let go of your past.

Any childhood trauma or things that happened in the past should be left in the past. Sometimes it’s really hard to forget people that hurt us. But living with so much hate and regret will only prevent you from being happy. Make peace with your past, forget about what you’ve been through and start living in the present.

4. Stop making unrealistic expectations.

There’s nothing worse than living life with expectations. Especially unrealistic expectations. Learn to live life without any expectations if you do not want disappointments.

5. Set goals and try to achieve them.

You need to set goals that make your life better be it in career, relationship or all rounded life goals.

6. Do not fear failure.

Some of the world’s greatest inventions are solely because the people behind them were not afraid of failure.

7. Stop relying on others for your own happiness.

Not a man not a job. These things are temporary. What happiness when that job or man is no longer in your life. Practice self-care and self-reliance. Be your own best friend. Love yourself first; remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup.
