Here are some of the unusual changes and what they might be trying to communicate to us.

Eyebrows getting thin

When you notice that you are losing hair around your eyebrows, specifically towards the outside, something could be wrong. As health expert, Dr Natalie Azar told today.com, this could be a sign of an under-active thyroid. This is a condition in which your thyroid gland fails to produce enough of certain important hormones, and this can cause obesity, joint pain, and heart disease.

Eyes protrude

When you look at your eye, do you see more white than you should? Is your eyeball fitting well into the socket? If you notice a protrusion, Dr Azar said this could be the sign of an over-active thyroid (hyperthyroidism). It can also cause irregular heartbeat, sweating, and a sudden weight loss.

Smooth, pale tongue

Stick out your tongue and look in the mirror. If you notice that your tongue is unusually sore and swollen, it could be a sign of nutritional deficiencies such as low iron, folate and vitamin B12.  A healthy tongue should be pink and covered with small nodules (papillae). Any deviation from your tongue's normal appearance, or any pain, may be cause for concern.

Swollen feet or ankles

This condition, even though might seem normal, may be something more serious, as it could be caused by a heart failure. Swelling of the legs and ankles is usually caused by fluid accumulation in the body, which can be a symptom of heart failure. Ankles that swell in the evening could be a sign of retaining salt and water because of right-sided heart failure.
