The main reason for hard skin on the soles of the feet is pressure. People who walk more, go hiking often and runners are thus at a higher risk of having hard feet, otherwise known as foot callus.
Say bye to hard feet
But all is not lost for you if you have hard heels. You can still get baby soft heels with simple remedies at home. Check out some natural ways to soften your heels:
1. Exfoliate
Just like the rest of your body, your heels need exfoliation. When your feet are damp, rub them with a pumice stone more often. This way, you will get rid of the dead skin on your soles.
2. Eggs and lemon
Lemons have acidic properties that will aid in softening your heels and also microbial properties to prevent the spread of bacteria on your feet. Eggs on the other hand will help in moisturizing your feet to prevent them from drying. Mix lemon juice and eggs, then apply on your damp soles. Let it rest for around 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water. For results, do this every evening.
3. Coconut oil and Vaseline
Mix Vaseline and coconut oil in a container and use it as your daily skin moisturizer. Apply it every morning and evening on your soles and in between the toes. Vaseline helps in moisture retention while coconut oil has vitamins that are good for the skin cells.
4. Baking soda
You can never go wrong with this miracle worker. Make a thick paste using baking soda and water and apply it on your heels. Let it sit for like ten minutes before rinsing with warm water. Alternatively, you can soak your feet in warm water with baking soda for 10 minutes every day until you see results.
5. Olive oil
This is easy. All you have to do is massage your feet with olive oil every night and put on cotton socks. This will ensure that your feet are moisturized and with time, you will get the baby soft kind of feet.
6. Don’t walk barefoot
The first thing we all do after work is throwing away the shoes to let the feet get some fresh air. Instead of walking around the house barefooted, put on some socks or slippers. This will prevent moisture loss which makes the heels harder.
