Life can be hard sometimes, everyone knows that.
Family, relationships, work – they can all become a bit much to handle sometimes and in return can make someone unhappy.
What you do – or in this case need to stop doing – plays a factor on your unhappiness.
Here is a reminder of the things you need to stop doing in order to be happier.
1.Beating yourself down
Have a little faith in yourself. Criticizing yourself too harshly will only stagnate you and halt your progress in life – and this includes emotional progress as well.
2.Focusing on what you don’t have
Stop focusing on what you don’t have and focus on building more on what you do have. Paying attention to the things you wish you have will make you miss out on creating something even better with what you do have.
3.Putting yourself last
It’s great to be selfless. It’s an admirable quality but sometimes it is okay to be selfish. No one is going to take care of yourself better than you.
4.Trying to be someone else other than you
It can be scary to want to show people who you are. You may want to be like someone else because they receive more love from people and believe that you will be accorded the same. What you miss to understand is that people can tell when you’re faking it.
Accept your flaws and unapologetically be yourself.
5.Giving up too soon
The greatest things in life don’t come easy so learn to push on and not give up. Your time is coming very soon.
6.Not putting in the work to achieve your dreams
Stop lazing around and put in the work you need to in order to make sure you achieve your heart’s desires.
7.Trying to buy your happiness
Happiness can’t be bought – maybe temporarily – but if that’s the type of happiness you’re looking for, you’ll never realize what true happiness is.
8.Spending time with people that are wasting your time
Life is too short to be spending it on people that add no value to your life. Let go of loose ends that are just there to suck the life and happiness out of you.
9.Running away from your problems
Guilt isn’t a feeling you would like to carry around for the rest of your life. Face your problems head on and deal with them as soon as you encounter them.
10.Stop making the same mistakes
Making the same mistakes is not because “you were wired that way”. You make the same mistakes because you choose to. Learn from your mistakes and make new ones – be original.
