Potatoes are a household cooking ingredients. They are readily available in the market and relatively affordable unless they are out of season.

Besides cooking them, you could also use potatoes for your skin. Check out some simple potato beauty hacks:

1. Dark circles

To brighten the dark circles around your eyes, peel them and cut into slices. Rub it on the affected area and rinse your eyes after around 20 minutes. Repeat this every day until you see results.

2. Skin lightening

If for some reasons you want to lighten some parts of your skin, you can use natural products rather than artificial products. Blend the potatoes and mix the juice with honey. Apply it on your skin and wash it off after 15 minutes. The acidic properties in potatoes brighten the skin while honey moisturizes it.

3. For a glowing skin

Mix and lemon juice and apply the mixture on your face and neck. You could also add honey if you want. Clean up your face after 15 minutes. The mixture tones the skin, clears up the pores and removes excess oil leaving you with a glow.

4. Acne treatment

Many people have problems dealing with acne. Before you rush to use artificial products that may end up making it worse, try potato and tomato mixture on your face. Apply it every day for fast results.

5. Face cleanser

Make a homemade facial cleanser using potatoes, cucumbers and baking soda. Blend the potato and cucumber together before adding one teaspoonful of baking soda. Then add a teaspoonful of water and shake well before use.

6. Anti aging

If you want to look your age or even younger, mix potato juice, raw milk and glycerin twice a week. Let it sit on your face for 15 minutes before washing it off.
