You can get away with not having a powder or highlighter brush and other brushes, in my opinion, but a foundation brush is a must-have. Without a good brush, you will not be able to blend in your foundation, and poorly blended foundation is a huge makeup sin.

3. A primer.

It doesn’t have to be an expensive primer. No, even a drugstore primer will do. It’s important to prep your face first. It’s like prepping your canvas to prepare it for the paint job. The primer acts as a foundation base and helps it last longer and give it a smooth finish.

4. A good moisturizer.

It’s underrated. Find a moisturizer to prevent your skin from drying out, and one that works for your skin, depending on whether you have a dry, sensitive or oily skin.

5. A powder.

For a great finish, you need a powder to set the foundation. Plus, you can apply it throughout the day to minimize the shine on your face especially if you have oily sin. Just like the foundation, it’s necessary to get a powder that matches your skin tone.

6. A bold lippie.

Regardless of your skin tone, you can never go wrong with a red lipstick. In fact, every woman needs a red lipstick in her makeup bag. It comes in handy not just for nights out but also days when you simply need a pick-me-up.

7. A pair of tweezers.

You don’t always have time to go to your hairdresser for eyebrow threading and that's why you need to own a pair of tweezers to pluck out those stray brows, especially if you have the bushy kind of brows. Bad brows can ruin an entire makeup look.
