If you constantly suffer from dark spots and breakouts on your face, you should consider home-made face masks every now and then, to see if your skin will clear up, failure to which, you should consult a dermatologist. There are loads of face masks out there and one of the masks that most people swear by is the avocado, honey and lemon face mask. Natural honey has been known to have skin lightening properties as well as antibacterial properties which help reduce blemishes. Avocado has healthy fatty acids and antioxidants which are good for the skin and fresh lemon juice contains Vitamin C and citric acid which can help brighten your skin over time. Lemons are also antibacterial and can help reduce acne. Good thing ladies is, this mask is super easy and affordable to make, as all you will need is:

Natural honey

A ripe avocado

Instructions:

1. Scoop half a ripe avocado into a small bowl and mash it with a spoon or folk.

2. Then, add a teaspoon of natural honey into the mix and mash it a bit.

3. Finally, add a teaspoon of lemon juice into the mix and give it a final stir.

Before applying the mask, wipe your face with a warm face towel, to help open up your pores and make sure that your face is completely clean.

Using one of your old makeup brushes. Apply the mix generously on your face and neck, avoiding the eyelids and leave it on for 20 minutes. You will begin to feel the mask become a bit sticky and this is your cue to rinse off.

With a warm face towel, wipe off the mask then go ahead and clean your face and the moisturize.

This mask will leave your skin feeling super soft and after doing it for some time, maybe once or twice a week, your skin will be blemish free and soft. It’s also important to note that some skin experts insist that lemon juice is not good for the face so if you have sensitive skin or a reaction, you should leave out the lemon juice. Try it and see if it works for you. If the mask leaves your skin super dry, worry not, it’s nothing that a good moisturizer can’t fix.
