From Kakuma Refugee Camp to international runways-meet Adut Akech

She was born in Kenya but later emigrated to Australia

Adut was born in Kenya’s Kakuma Refugee Camp to Sudanese parents. At age 6, they emigrated to Australia. The now Sudanese-Australian teenager had never intended to get into modeling. As the story goes, Adut had an aunt that owned a clothing shop and at one point, she requested her to model in one of her fashion shows, and as they say, the rest was history.

Adut started strutting the runways at only age 12.

Now, aged 18, she’s the next Alek Wek, without a doubt. In 2018 only, the sassy teenager has walked the runways of all the big names in fashion such as Tom ford, Saint Lauren, Burberry, Versace, Fendi, Prada, Calvin Klein to mention but a few; and let’s not forget about all the top magazine spread features.

Somebody please catch this girl cause she’s on a roll!

Having been signed by a modeling agency, the future looks bright for Adut who now lives in an apartment she owns in New York City and mingles with the likes of Naomi Campbell and Lupita.

Also, how cool is  her haircut?

A classic case of from grass to grace. She’s definitely an inspiration to many aspiring models out there.
