That don't involve eating it
But besides making tea and baking, sugar has many other uses you probably didn’t know.
Check out these other great things you can do with sugar at home:
1. Hair removal
To get rid of unnecessary hair from your skin, you can make a shaving paste using sugar. Boil sugar and lemon water until the paste turns brown and add some water if it’s too thick. Let it cool for some minutes before using it to wax.
2. Soothe your tongue
Whether you burnt your tongue with a hot cup of coffee or tea, sugar will help soothe the pain. Just sprinkle some sugar on the hurting region and the pain will disappear.
While honey is the best for healing wounds due to its microbial effects, sugar too helps in killing bacteria that prevents the wound from healing. Bacteria needs a dump environment to breed and sugar draws water from the wound making the conditions unbearable for bacteria.
4. Stings and bites
Whether you have been stung by an insect or bitten by a bug, sugar can relive the pain. Mix equal amount of sugar and water and apply on the affected region. Let it sit for like 20 minutes and the pain will be no more.
5. Exfoliate your body
Make your own exfoliating body scrub and the oil of your choice to make a paste. Apply it on your body before rinsing it off in the shower.
6. Keeping flowers fresh for longer
Put warm water with sugar and vinegar in the vase and put the flowers in. The vinegar prevents the growth of bacteria while the sugar feeds the stem and keeps the flowers fresh. Change the water every day and the flowers will be fresh each day.
7. Treat chapped lips
Don’t just walk around with chapped lips while you can easily treat them with sugar and oil. You could use the same body scrub only that you need to do it softly to avoid hurting your lips. After the scrub, apply your routine lip balm.
