Tusker Cider celebrates first anniversary (photos)

The apple flavoured beer marked one successful year in the Kenyan market.

The birthday bash was nothing short of fun, loads of cake and of course the incredibly crisp Tusker Cider to help wind up the day.

Officially launched in October last year, Tusker Cider took the alcoholic beverage market by storm, being positively received by the targeted millennial crowd.

Being the first locally produced cider in East Africa and made in Kenya, Tusker Cider has definitely achieved a lot in its first year especially with the cider market being untapped.

“It’s been a great first year and we are looking forward to expanding and growing our market even more this year,” Tusker Marketing Manager, Arianne Okongo Kiama told Pulse Live Kenya.

Setbacks

Initially taking up a similar bottle shape as the Tusker beer, the female audience wasn’t too enthusiastic about it but a solution was quickly provided with the launch of the Tusker Cider can earlier on this year.

“The main reason behind launching the cans was mainly for the ladies and also for portability purposes,” said Ms. Kiama.

The can doubled up with the appealing maroon, black and gold colour scheme helped to reach out even more to the millennial crowd.

What to expect from Tusker Cider

The Tusker Cider team is currently on a media tour to promote the brand and to educate their audience on how best to drink a cider in an interesting campaign they have dubbed “The perfect serve for cider”.

In addition to that, there will also be Campus activations around University campuses in Kenya and what this basically means is that there are going to be big, amazing bashes in a University near you so you definitely don’t want to miss this.
