6 ways to treat genital acne
Acne does on only affect the face and the back..
Vaginal acne can occur on the outer vaginal layer and is caused due to the clogging up of debris and bacteria.
From wearing underwear that is too tight to shaving the wrong way, there can be a lot of discomfort experienced when someone has vaginal acne.
You do not want to be walking around feeling like you want to itch down under all the time.
Here are some ways to avoid such embarrassment from ever taking place and to keep the acne away.
1.Let your pubic hair grow out
A lot of women will squirm at the thought of this but when you shave off your pubic hair, ingrown hairs can cause folliculitis which are basically inflamed hair follicles thus pimples around your vagina area.
2.Do not pop pimples down there
The same way this applies to your face is the same way it applies to your vaginal area.
Popping pimples can expose your skin to infection and could even lead to more serious problems.
Same treatment of acne on the face applies to acne down there, let it be and it will disappear on its own.
3.Keep your vagina area dry
Get out of your sweaty exercise clothes as soon as you’re done working out. Sweat is one of the leading causes of acne therefore keeping dry down there is one of the best ways to avoid getting vaginal acne.
4.Go commando when sleeping
We have all heard of the benefits that come from sleeping commando and you can now add avoiding acne as to that list.
You tend to sweat more at night so letting your vagina breathe during the night is the perfect solution to treating acne.
Plus you can guarantee that your significant other wouldn’t mind this at all.
You can also avoid wearing underwear that is too tight.
5.Shave the right way
For those that do not want to let their hair grow down there, you should at least make sure you are getting rid of your pubic hair well.
Try use shaving cream to get rid of hair down there other than simply using soap and water.
More permanent solutions such as laser hair removal is also an option.
6.Visit your gynecologist
Your surest bet to treating vagina acne obviously has to be seeking medical advice from your gynecologist.
They will be able to subscribe any medication if necessary instead of opting for over-the-counter medicine.
They can also be able to tell you whether the cause of your acne is due to hormonal imbalance and how to move forward in treatment.
