Simple ways to deal with smelly Shoes & Feet

If it is not a serious medical condition which requires urgent attention from the doctor, there are simple homemade ways to deal with the pungent odour that can leave the whole world judging you.

1. Lemon peels

Take lemon peels and place it inside the smelly shoes for the night. This will absorb the odour.

2. Baking soda

Sprinkle baking soda inside your shoes and let it stay overnight. However, be sure to remove it if you are wearing the shoes the following day.

3. Tea bags

Soak tea bags in hot water then place it inside the smelly shoes for one hour or more.

Remove then dry off the excess juice left on the shoe by the tea bag.

Black teabags contain tannins which are very effective in killing bacteria that can be found inside the shoe.

4. Corn starch

Corn starch helps to absorb the moisture in smelly shoes.

5. Vinegar

When washing the stinking gears, you can use vinegar and your regular detergent to get rid of the stench.

6. Use the Freezer

To kill the bacteria that gives your shoes the bad smell, put them inside an air tight bag then place them inside the freezer.

Leave them  inside the freezer for the night as this will help kill the bacteria since it cannot stand the cold.

Take out from the freezer and unfreeze the shoes.

At the same time, you will need to take care of your feet to ensure that it is not infected with bacteria that causes the bad odour.

1. Wash your feet

Keep clean feet always. Importantly, ensure you wash between your toes and around the around the nail beds where the bacteria tend to hide

2. Remove dead skin

Scrub your feet with an exfoliating scrub or a pumice stone to get rid of the dead skin.

3. Dry your feet properly

After washing your feet ensure that you dry them well especially in between your toes. This is because bacteria thrives in moist areas.

4. Wear socks

Socks absorb moisture when your feet are sweaty. When you avoid wearing them the moisture transfers to your shoes, making them smelly.
