Patrice Endres' Unsolved Mysteries Death Has Reddit Users Speculating

The six episodes of the Unsolved Mysteries reboot that have aired on Netflix so far have both fascinated and divided fans, and one case that's being debated is the "13 Minutes" episode. The episode featured the story of Patrice Endres, a hair salon owner who vanished in a very particularly noted space of 13 minutes in 2004. There were no leads on the case until 600 days later, when the remains of a woman were found on December 6, 2005, and they were later identified as Patrice's.

Patrice Endres' Death Has Reddit Users Speculating

While there have been a number of false confessions over the years, its still unknown who is responsible for Patrices death. However, some viewers have spent some time investigating the case on their own, and a number of Reddit theories about Patrice are actually pretty convincing.

Spouses are always one of the first suspects when a murder occurs, and some of Patrice's loved ones revealed she had been unhappy in her marriage. Rob's strange behavior also didn't do him any favors over the course of the episode, as he admitted to carrying around Patrice's skull and sleeping with her ashes, and he also kicked Patrice's son out of their home after she disappeared.

On Reddit, one user pointed out that he "threw out his Criminology card almost immediately. 'How could I ever commit such a murder when Ive got a degree in criminology!!' Dentists still eat sugar, doctors still get fat and bankers still go bankrupt, so Im not sure what it proves. If anything it goes against him. Ive read that psychopaths & murders will usually have an interest in crime, be it reading a book or watching tv. This helps them to sharpen their skills and avoid detection."

Another user pointed to the fact that Rob wanted to see Patrice's skeleton reassembled, while someone else said that the way Rob "casually talked about [how] maybe his wife was kept alive for days as a 'play thing,' could point to him knowing more than he's letting on.

A number of users believe that while Rob wasn't physically involved, he may have hired a hitman to murder Patrice, and the person may have been in the blue car that was reported to be outside of the salon. However, commenters are divided on whether or not serial killer Jeremy Brian Jones was the hired hand.

One Redditor said that they believe Rob may have been trying to prevent Patrice from leaving him: "Now I'm wondering if Rob hired Jeremy (who confessed) with the intention to scare Patrice or teach her a lesson in response to her escape plan, but things escalated with Jeremy and she wound up getting killed. That might explain Rob immediately changing the house's locks "for his safety" (and Pistol's I guess?). Essentially Rob was scared of what else might come of exchanges with Jeremy."

While Rob's behavior and statements on Unsolved Mysteries were quite bizarre, some users believe that it's possible that he wasn't involved, and that he changed the locks on the door and kicked Pistol out simply because he's not a good person.

"Too many people are playing armchair detective with this. They're creating these intricate explanations for things and even inventing dialogue, it's hilarious," one user said ."...it doesn't make him a murderer, could easily just be a weirdo with awkward reactions. It's also important to note how manipulative all documentaries are to a certain degree, whether or not he did it, it certainly feels like they you want to think that he did." Another person noted that Rob was extremely possessive of Patrice's ashes, and it's unlikely he would kill her and then leave her body in the woods for months on end.

Someone else pointed to that blue car again: "I'm really wondering about someone claiming to have car trouble/ needing a jump as ruse. I have to read more about the case but that is what my mind keeps coming back to. Whether she was the victim of a serial killer, her ex husband was involved, or it was someone trying to get her distracted to rob her all seem possible to me so far."
