In one of Evans' character's first big scenes, Ransom shows up to the family's will reading, and is seen eating Biscoff cookiesalso known as the super buttery kind that you can get on an airplane. They were Johnson's snack of choice for a very simple reason.
I picked them just because they looked cool, the director revealed in a video where he breaks down a scene from the movie for Vanity Fair. After taking a pink highlighter and circling a still of Evans with these cookies, he quickly explained that although they might have been a small detail, he would regret the decision later (if only thinking about Evans' stomach and mouth and not, you know, the movie itself).
Then poor Chris, Johnson continued. Any time you see an actor eating food in a scene, pity the actor because theyve had to eat that food all day long. These cookies, you eat like two of them and you feel like your throat is coated in butter. Chris was pounding these all day long. So I feel very bad for him.
Despite maybe just being a little self-deprecating, eating a ton of butter cookies doesnt seem to be a terrible way to spend an entire day on set. But Johnson might be forgetting that Evans has done a lot tougher things on camera for the sake of a film. Think about the peak physical shape he had to keep pretty constantly for about a decade just to play Cap in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After that, sitting around and munching on sweets for an entire day probably felt like a vacation.
