In a new Instagram video, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD-aka Dr. Pimple Popper-removes a lipoma from a patient's back. The lipoma is "hanging by a thread," and it takes quite a bit of snipping to free it from the patient's body. The patient experiences some discomfort during the removal.
In a new YouTube video posted Monday, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD-aka Dr. Pimple Popper-has a bit of a tough time removing a lipoma from a patient's back. It's titled "A Lipoma Hanging by a Thread," and if you watch the nearly 17-minute-long video, you'll see why: When Lee almost has the lipoma free of its home, she has to deal with a tiny strand of tissue connecting it to the patient's body. With a few extra snips-and a little discomfort on behalf of the patient-she finally removes the lipoma. Then she stitches up the incision.
What is a lipoma?
A lipoma is a noncancerous fatty growth that forms between the skin and muscle, according to the Mayo Clinic . From the outside, a lipoma feels squishy, and you can move it around with your finger. Since lipomas are benign, people who have 'em don't have to seek additional treatment, but if the growth is causing discomfort, a patient might want to think about having it removed.
