"I'm surprised," Ross admits after the first few obstacles. "You're quite agile." He obviously wasn't there when Eddie showed off his flexibility by learning how to do a near-perfect backflip .

Former World's Strongest Man winner Eddie Hall knows a lot about feats of pure power . But what about endurance? In his latest video, The Beast teams up with athlete and adventurer Ross Edgley in a friendly competition to see who can perform the best at the assault course which surrounds the lake at Manley Mere in England.

The real race begins with a run through what Ross calls a "mildly" cold pond, then climbing over and under a set of cargo nets. You'd think that Ross would have a distinct advantage when it comes to traversing the cold water of the pond (he was the first man to ever swim around the entire United Kingdom), but Eddie is taller than him and plunges ahead faster, almost making it out of the pond first... before tripping on a log.
Next up are the cargo nets, which pose a different challenge: for Eddie, simply lifting himself up onto the cargo net involves hauling nearly 400 pounds. He's so exhausted by this and crawling through the mud that he doesn't even attempt the next couple of bodyweight exercises, including a set of monkey bars and a wall. "Mate, there's no chance," he says.
The assault course also includes a series of metal tubes. "I don't think I'm going to fit through there," Eddie says of the first once, and for a minute it looks like he will get stuck, but he successfully makes it all the way through.

Ross goes first through another pipe that tips as his weight goes from one end to the other, and then it's Eddie's turn. "I'm literally going one inch at a time here," he says. And it happens: he gets stuck. "I can't go backwards, I can't go forwards."
Eventually they're able to tilt the pipe so that Eddie can slide out with the help of gravity. "That was not enjoyable," he concludes. "Oh my days."
That obstacle is followed by yet another pipe, this one containing a right angle. And it's not long before Eddie gets stuck. Again. He does manage to crawl out, but it takes him a good while. "Seriously bro, I thought I was going to die in there," he says. "I genuinely thought you were going to have to call the fire brigade."
He jokes that the experience does, though, give him a newfound respect for "Mama Hall, and how she gave birth to The Beast."
