5 budget travel tips to save money

Find out how you can do simple things to save money next time you go on that vacation.

1. Book ticket ahead

Booking your ticket ahead means you get to pay less.

Plan in advance and visit discount websites to see if there are better deals. Sometimes, one-way tickets are so expensive that the round trip ticket is cheaper.

2. Travel by road

Going to a neighbouring country or another state? Why not try going on a road trip with friends. That way you save more and get exciting company.

3. Avoid Breakfast from the Hotels

Chances are the breakfast from the hotel is expensive and isn’t that great. It pays to find a local restaurant with a variety of cheap dishes.

4. Stay with friends

Or better still split you hotel bills with friends. After all, it's just a week and not all your life!

5. Avoid Taxis and use Public Transportation

Tourist usually take taxis, so you might want to reconsider that. You get charged more than the usual rates so consider taking a bus as it’s sometimes easier and much cheaper.
