Certain areas within Nairobi have proven to be a favorite residential area for a lot of students either because of their proximity to universities or their affordable living.
Here are the top 5 places in Nairobi to rent properties for students.
1.Ngara
Ngara houses a good number of student hostels and the rent ranges from 7k – 10k for a single room. A bedsitter from 10k-13k and two people sharing would go for 5k-7k.
The proximity of Ngara to the CBD makes it convenient for students to access public transportation. The availability of amenities such as clothes and food stands within Ngara also make the area favorable to students.
2.Lower Kabete
Rent within Lower Kabete is affordable as bedsitters range from 5k-10k and one bedroom could range from 11k-15k.
The proximity to the University of Nairobi Lower Kabete campus also makes the area attractive to students. Depending on where the house is located, most students can walk to the campus, so little to no stress when it comes to transport.
3.Rongai
Rent for a bedsitter in Rongai ranges between 5k-8k and a one bedroom from 8k-12k.
It is a good location for students studying in universities such as Africa Nazarene, Catholic University, Multimedia University, Cooperative college and Kenya School of Law.

Roysambu and Zimmerman are popular living areas for a lot of students and it’s not hard to see why. A good number of universities including the United States International University (USIU), Kenyatta University (KU) and Zetech University are in close proximity.
Students also have access to affordable living as rent for a one bedroom could range between 8k-15k.
Malls such as TRM and Garden City are in close proximity which serves as a great source of entertainment for students.

5.Pipeline, Embakasi
Pipeline is a good choice for student living seeing that it is an affordable area to live in.
Students can get a bedsitter for around 7k and just like Rongai, the matatus are available all the time.
