Woman gets married 6 days after replying to a Facebook post (Photos)

Her now husband had put up a Facebook post seeking potential candidates to be his wife.

A Nigerian man identified as Chidimma Amedu had put up a Facebook post asking any woman that was interested in marrying him to reply to his post.

At first, it seemed like a joke judging from all the weird requests and scams that happen on Facebook but Mr. Amedu was actually serious about his request.

“Am of age and I am ready to say I do and am wasting no time. Send in your applications – the most qualified will be married on January 6, 2018. Application closes 12 midnight, 31/12/2017. Am serious about this oh and don’t say you did not see it on time. Good luck,” read his post.

Why Chidimma decided to put up the Facebook post

He had previously gotten engaged to a woman but the relationship did not work out. The wedding had been slated for December but it ended in March.

With December quickly approaching, he felt the need to fulfill his idea

When Sophy came across the post she thought that it must be a joke and replied to it for the fun of it.

“Am interested, just DM me…lols,” she replied.

Her response got the attention of Mr. Amedu and he slid into her DM as requested.

Two days after their conversation, her future husband made his way to Enugu where she lived.

They met, had a conversation for two hours and shortly after that went to meet his uncle who coincidentally also lived in Enugu.

The meeting clearly well as the uncle gave the couple his blessings and right about that time is when reality started to settle in for Sophy.

“When I saw him for the first time, I definitely found him attractive, but what I didn’t know was how serious he was about marrying me,” she was quoted.

This didn’t deter Sophy from wanting to marry Mr. Amedu however as they paid a visit to Sophy’s family the same day. Her family approved and they were officially engaged.

Six days down the line and as promised they were married on January 6 in a traditional IGBO ceremony.

The hope to have a church ceremony in April.
