How to turn that situationship into a relationship

Go on get your bae

It’s not ‘taboo’ to have the casual fling while doing everything that couples usually do; have private dates all the time, spend almost every minute together, get jealous if the other starts hitting on someone else but still insist that the two of you are just friends – confusing huh?

Well sometimes the feelings can take over and you may realize that you may want something more out of your relationship and here are some tips to help you navigate your way to a serious commitment.

1. Change things up

I’m guessing the usual routine in your situationship is mainly physical so your conversations revolve around going over to their place, chilling a bit and then eventually having sex.

Well it may be time to switch that up and start making different plans. Go out to a movie and go back home. Change the course of your conversations to not be very sexually driven.

Someone will only treat you the way you allow them to.

2. Honesty

You need to be honest with yourself and ask a couple of questions. One really important one being if you’re really ready to take your relationship to the next level? Are you willing to handle the change that comes with being in a committed relationship?

3. Take a break from one another and see what happens

Sometimes all you need is a little space to truly appreciate one another. The two of you have been on a constant high since your hook up but have never really gotten the chance to sit down and have a talk about what it is exactly that the two of you are doing.

So maybe a little time apart is what you need to turn that situationship into a serious relationship – besides absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Plus you’ll get to know how much they really want you in their life.

4. Have a conversation

It won’t hurt to just have a simple conversation about your feelings and where you want to go with your relationship.

Good luck!
