On Tuesday, Chrissy filmed a portion of her Botox appointment. And in true Chrissy fashion, the unofficial queen of social media shared the footage in an Instagram story for her millions of fans to see.
In the video, Chrissy is in the treatment chair with one arm raised above her head while Dr. Jason Diamond, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, administers the injections. The star has a napkin covering her face. Chrissy moves it when she turns to the doc and says, "That really isn't anything." She also wrote: "Botoxed my armpits. Truly best move I have ever made. I can wear silk again without soaking woohoo!"
The treatment is legit: Botox has been FDA-approved to help prevent hand and underarm sweating since 2004. It works by blocking the communication between the neuron and the sweat gland, Dendy Engelman, M.D., a dermatologist at Manhattan Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery in New York City, previously told Women's Health .
To be more specific, Botox blocks the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Results (the minimization of sweating in the area Botox is injected) last anywhere between six to 12 months, she says.
Chrissy also responded to a fan who asked how painful the procedure was. She tweeted : "no more soaking through silk! truly didn't hurt at all! but I also do laser hair removal there so my pain tolerance might be quite high."
It seems her pits are procedure pros.
