In the Instagram video, posted Monday, dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD shared a video removing a cyst right in front of a patient's ear-and, tbh, it ends up being much bigger than it looks at first sight. "Mondays are #hard... heres a killer Hard POP to get you through it," Dr. Pimple Popper wrote in her Instagram caption for the video.
At first, Dr. Pimple Popper clues her watchers in on the background of the cyst. Apparently, the patient has had this cyst on his ear for five years. Lately, its gotten bigger, the doctor says, as she starts pushing around the bump.
The doctor reached for her trusty punch tool and, after assuring the patient that he shouldnt feel anything, gets in there. The punch tool leaves a nice, perfectly round hole around the cyst-then the squeezing begins.
Unfortunately, squeezing alone doesn't do the trick, so Dr. Pimple Popper reaches for her tweezers and scissors. She grasps the gunk inside and then starts opening up the base of the cyst with her scissors.
What happens next is honestly kind of amazing. The doctor slowly tugs on the cysts innards with her tweezers, while using the scissors around the bottom to continue loosening the surrounding skin, and this massive thing that kinda looks like a misshapen shrimp comes out in one go. Yep, the whole damn thing came right out.
Well show you that one! Youre gonna like that one, she says as she lays the fully intact cyst on a piece of gauze. The doctor then checked the gaping hole where the cyst was to see if there was anything else in there (there wasnt). That thing came out all nice and smooth, she says.
The patient is then stitched up and thats it. That was an incredibly easy (but also extremely satisfying) one, if I do say so myself.
