There are some celebrities that are total social media holdouts to the point where you eventually just give up all hope theyll join any platform ever. Jennifer Aniston used to be one of them, but OMG she just joined Instagram. And her first post is everything.
In it, Jen shared a pic from what appears to be a pretty recent Friends reunion (um, did my invite get lost in the mail or...?). The pic is a little blurry, but you can clearly see Jennifer, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox , Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer all hanging out in front of a roaring fire like its NBD. But, of course, its a huge freakin' deal.
"And now were Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM," Jennifer wrote in the caption.
People completely lost it in the comments, including some fellow celebs. YASSSS!!! Welcome to Insta Jen!!! said Jennifer's The Morning Show costar Reese Witherspoon. I'M CRYING, one fan wrote. OMG FINALLY FINALLLYYYYY, another said.
For the record, Jennifer shared her first post just an hour ago, and she already has 129,000 followersmake that 129,001. Shes also following 81 accounts, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Comments By Celebs (haha), and actress Kathy Najimy.
Earlier this week, Jennifer told Entertainment Tonight that she was thinking about joining social media. "Maybe," she said. "You never know."
"What you resist, persists," she said of social media. "It's something that is a part of our world now, and it's not going away."
Jennifer did say that she liked that you could speak directly to people with social media. "You can actually have a little bit more control over the narrative that's out there," she explained. "[You can] right some wrongs and some silly things that, God knows, are said often."
