I just want to put out there re: my Fallon interview I actually do suffer from OCD, it wasnt just a little quip I made on a talk show. Ive had OCD since I was in elementary school. So, yes. I do have the right to talk about it. Thanks. Lili Reinhart (@lilireinhart)
Lili went on the show on November 14 to chat about her character in the movie Hustlers. Lilis character would throw up whenever she got nervous, and Lili said the fake vomit they used on set was an OCD trigger for her.
"It was actually animal crackers and Sprite mixed together," she said on the show. "I thought I was going to have a problem here because I have this really like, OCD thing with floaters in water and in drinks. Like if my drink has a little floater in it, Im like [gags], get it out. Thats when I want to throw up! So having a cup of something that basically looked like floaters in water was like my worst nightmare."
Lili said she was ultimately able to deal with it, though. "It tasted okay. It just tasted like animal crackers," she said.
Fans ended up thanking Lili for being candid about her mental health after her tweet. "Ive had OCD my entire life. Ive even been hospitalized for it. The fact that you feel comfortable talking about it is inspiring for me. Thank you for being you!" one fan wrote.
"Thank you for being so open about mental health. I started showing signs of OCD 3 years ago and Ive been dealing with it ever since and its honestly terrifying," another follower said.
"I honestly admire you for the fact youre not afraid to talk about your issues as well as mental health. More people should be like you. Youre an amazing person for doing that. It really inspires me as someone who struggles with OCD depression and anxiety," still another commented.
Props to Lili for being so open about her condition!
