Tiaty MP Kasait Kamket confirmed his marriage to Immaculate Kasait who is one of the officials NASA coalition has insisted must exit the electoral body ahead of the October 26 presidential election.
Kamket had appeared on a live interview hosted by NTV’s Larry Madowo where he appeared for the Jubilee side against NASA official Olga Karani.
At one point, Kamket stated that Odinga’s chance of becoming president was “an impossibility by whatever means.”
“The claim that Raila Odinga is going to be president is going to be a mathematical impossibility, how can he when he is losing his generals in droves?” the Tiaty MP stated.
The MP’s statement appeared to have agitated Ms Karani who responded by challenging Kamket to advise his wife to resign from the IEBC so that Odinga could win in a free and fair contest.
“If truly you know that Raila will not win again, start by telling your wife to step down from the IEBC because she is the cause of all these problems. If she steps down with all her friends, we will show you how we will win.”
“For the sake of your children, tell her she should be the first to step down because we have seen her working with the wrong people right from 2007. Tell her to quit and keep her at home,” a fiery Karani retorted.
Karani was among the NASA officials whose affidavits were used in Odinga case at the Supreme Court. Immaculate was adversely mentioned by NASA in both the 2013 and 2017 presidential petitions.
Kamket confirmed that Immaculate, who is the Director of Voter Registration and Election Operations, is his wife but defended her against NASA’s attacks stating that Odinga’s team was only looking for a scapegoat having lost the August 8 elections.
