Chiloba Sends Annoying Message to NASA Protesters

Speaking spoke to a KTN reporter while the protesters were outside his office where he indicated that he appreciated the demonstrations but urged them to equally understand that he had work to do.

"Kenyans have a right to protest but we are in office doing what is mandated of us," the CEO stated with a smurk.

Queried on whether he had considered the demands by NASA that he should leave the polls commission, Chiloba responded by simply asserting that he had not entertained that thought.

"I have not thought of resigning.  I have got responsibility before me and I have to discharge it," the IEBC executive stated.

He added that he was not to blame for the challenges that led to the nullification of the 2017 presidential election but noted stakeholders should focus on the solutions rather than apportioning blame.

"The question is whether the stakeholders want crucial matters resolved...We have to look at our infrastructure and procedures in the electoral process," he added.

Chiloba further explained that the commission had its fair share of internal challenges, adding that investigations were ongoing on the leaking of internal memos that have served to undermine the credibility of the IEBC.
