11 people have died after a 14-seater matatu they were traveling in rolled several times near HZ along Eldoret-Eldama Ravine road.

The vehicle hit a guard rail and then rolled several times killing several passengers on the spot.
Metkei Assistant County Commissioner Raymond Jembe confirmed the deaths saying the injured had been rushed to hospital.
Residents appealed to National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to erect road signs at the scene to show matatu drivers plying the rout that the area is a blackspot.
Road accidents increase
156 people have lost their lives in the country on the road since the year began.
According to the survey results released by the NTSA on January 25, 2019, this is slightly lower than those who perished by the same date in 2018.
Pedestrians remains the most vulnerable road users with 59 of them having been killed.
