2 police officers dead after collision of bus and security truck

Wreckage of the Moyale Linear bus and G4S lorry

Two police officers died on Thursday night after a bus collided with a G4S lorry at Naromoru area in Nyeri County.

The officers were among the four people that were killed in the accident between a Moyale Linear bus that was travelling to Moyale and the lorry.

Reports indicated that the law enforcers were escorting the courier service vehicle from Meru when the accident occurred.

This comes two days after a 14-seater matatu and a lorry collided at Dundori area along the Nakuru-Nyahururu highway.

The accident claimed the lives of six people while six others were seriously injured.

The driver of the matatu that belongs to 3N TO SACOO, had not seen the small truck that was being pulled by the lorry and lost control of the vehicle before veering off the road.

The PSV vehicle was heading to Nakuru from Dundori when the accident happened.

The injured had been rushed to hospital in critical condition.

Government vehicle involved in accident

In March last year, three people died while three others were seriously injured after an accident between a state agency vehicle from the Kenya Water Security and Climate Resilience project and a lorry at Marua in Nyeri County.

Witnesses indicated that the driver of the state vehicle lost control as he tried to negotiate a sharp bend along the Nyeri-Karatina road before colliding with the lorry that was ferrying sodas.

All the occupants of the government vehicle died on the spot.
