The two were kept in an isolation ward at the Kerugoya Referral Hospital where they will be subjected to coronavirus tests.
Kirinyaga County Director of Health George Karoki said one of the women had traveled from Ongata Rongai where there have been confirmed cases of the virus.
The other woman is a resident of Kirinyaga county.
The Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization have emphasized the need for prompt testing for those who show the symptoms as well as those who have come into contact with patients who have tested positive.
The Ministry of Health has released a toll-free number - 719 - which Kenyans can call if they feel they have symptoms of the virus.
The symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
