A worrying trend has kicked off in parts of the country following the tragic death of Moi University student Ivy Wangechi last week.

Police in Nyeri on Monday morning reported a 1 a.m. incident in Nyaribo area where a 24-year-old woman was killed by her lover.

The woman who is yet to be identified was allegedly hacked by a lover who is now being said to have been estranged from her.

Nyeri Central SCPC Paul Kuria told reporters that they were yet to capture the suspect who they believe fled soon after the murder.

Survivor stabbed 17 times

This is the second stabbing incident in the county following another that was reported last week.

One Ms Peninah Wangeci survived after being stabbed 17 times by her husband Samuel Ndirangu during an altercation last Tuesday.

Peninah has since come out to admit that it is a miracle she survived the incident as she is hospitalized at the Karatina Sub-county Hospital.

Another female student at Pwani University was on Sunday stabbed by her boyfriend after she refused to accept money from him.

Naomi Chepkemboi allegedly sent back Sh3,200 wired to her by one Hillary Kipkemboi whom she is said to have broken up with.

The man, reported to be a Kenyatta University student, then traveled to Kilifi with a bag carrying 3 knives where he assaulted Chepkemboi.

The incidences have raised debates across online platforms as personalities continue to voice their views.
