The announcement was made on Friday where the airline cited the low passenger volume.
“Due to the decreasing volume of passenger flow, China Southern Airlines has made necessary adjustments by suspending flights connecting Guangzhou, Changsha and Nairobi until further notice,” the airline said in a statement.
On Wednesday a China Southrn Airlines plane was almost turned back after officials at JKIA refused to clear passengers from Guangzhou as tension over coronavirus continues to rise.
Travel advisories
There has been concern among Kenyans after they learnt that some airliners originating from China were still being allowed to land at JKIA after Kenya Airways suspended its flights.
Several countries have issued travel advisories to their citizens, warning them against non-essential travel to China.
President Uhuru Kenyatta an executive order on Friday announcing the set up of a 21-member task force.
In the order, President Kenyatta ordered the completion of an isolation centre at Mbagathi Hospital in Nairobi within seven days.
