Deputy Inspector General Njoroge Mbugua commissioned the transfer of all officers at Shauri Moyo Police Station following public complaints.

Members of the public were outraged by an incident where an officer shot and injured an innocent bystander who he had mistaken for a suspect.

The residents of the area further took issue with the influx of crime in the region accusing the officers of doing very little to protect them.

The officers allegedly tried to cover up the mistaken identity. They were also accused of harassing the residents and demanding bribes.
