United States (US) embassy in Nairobi cancels all appointments scheduled for March 2, 2020 due to power outage

The United States (US) embassy in Nairobi on Monday notified the public of a temporary halt to its operations at their Limuru Road residence.

In a brief posted on their verified Twitter handle, the embassy explained that the drastic change was necessitated by unreliable power supply.

The embassy notified clients that their appointments would be rescheduled.

"Due to a power outage, all appointments with the consular section at U.S. Embassy Nairobi on March 2, 2020 are cancelled. The Embassy will contact applicants to reschedule canceled appointments. We sincerely regret the inconvenience," the notice read.

Rampant power outages in Nairobi

Various parts of Nairobi experienced a series of unscheduled and prolonged power outages last week.

Kenya Power PLC has not been keen on explain the outages, however, the company along with the DCI have been on a crackdown of illegal connections around the city.
