A police officer has been killed following a Wednesday attack on Amuma Patrol Base in Fafi, Garissa County.

A second officer was seriously injured during the ambush which partly destroyed the base's armoury.
According to reports, heavily armed gunmen suspected to be Al Shabaab operatives opened fire at the facility and continued to fire for about 10 minutes.
Garissa police boss Emmanuel Opuru confirmed the reports assuring the public that the injured officer is in stable condition at a Garissa hospital.
Mr Opuru also confirmed that initial investigations indicate that the attackers had rocket-propelled grenades.
Police are yet to make an arrest of the attackers who are said to have escaped into somalia.
