Outspoken MP expelled from Musalia's party

ANC kicks out MP

ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi

Amani National Congress (ANC) party has resolved to expel Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi.

According to the party, Osotsi was expelled for wrongful conduct.

In a press statement sent to newsrooms ANC stated: “Pursuant to the Article 50 and having exhaustively deliberated over the matters before it, the Disciplinary Committee has Decided that Hon Godfrey Osotsi is hereby expelled forthwith from the membership of ANC party.”

Reason for expulsion

The party further said it had communicated the expulsion of Osotsi to the clerk of the registrar of political parties.

According to ANC, the registrar has been advised to strike off his name from the ANC party’s registers.

His expulsion comes after he criticized party leader Musalia Mudavadi in public and even asked the party to expel him.

ANC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) summoned nominated Senator Petronila Were to appear before the Disciplinary Committee on Friday and defend herself over unspecified allegations.

Senator summoned

Petronila Were is hereby summoned within 14 days to appear before the Disciplinary Committee and offer clarification to her response to allegations facing her,” the statement read in part.

This comes in the backdrop of recent expulsions by NASA affiliate parties after ODM kicked out Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.

ANC has in the past warned their members asking them to tow the party line or risk being kicked out.
