Search for the officer ends in tragedy

Police officer who had been reported missing two months ago was on Tuesday night found dead in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

The Administration Police officer who was identified as Vincent Kemboi, is reported to have died in an accident that occurred near Sakunanga shopping centre in Uasin Gishu along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway in November 2018.

Kemboi’s body that was discovered at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary had been awaiting collection by family members.

Administration Police rugby club, where the 24-year-old was a player, confirmed the death of the flanker on their Facebook account.

Reports indicated that the accident claimed the lives of three people with the deceased being one of them, while six others were injured.

The injured had been rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for treatment.

Police boss missing after absconding duty

In the same month, Chief Inspector George Mathenge Mithamo in Nairobi had gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

Mithamo who was the Officer Commanding Station at Kileleshwa Police Station had been feared lost after his bosses could not reach him on phone and confirmed that he was neither at home nor at his work place.

Detectives attached to the DCI had been dispatched to investigates the where bouts of the police boss.

His colleagues however had found out that Mithamo had ran away from his duty.
