Football superstar Lionel Messi has made donation of 23 million Kenya shillings to fund a noble project in Kenya.

Messi who plies his trade for Barcelona made the donation through his charitable organization to United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) that will implement the project in Kenya.
The project will see more than 2,000 people, including children have access to clean running water in their homes and in primary schools.
The initiative will also see at least 4,000 food supplements distributed to help solve hunger issues and malnutrition among the target population.
The Argentinian international who is known for his prowess in football has always been kind enough to share the millions he makes to address the plight of those in need with several projects benefitting from his donations.
His charitable work is often targets the welfare of disadvantaged children in hardship, challenges that the star relates with so well having gone through tough times as a child.
From the age of 11 for three years, every night he would have a needle injecting treatment to help strengthen his legs and counter the growth deficiency he had suffered.
His Lionel Messi Foundation, which established in 2007 has since ventured into medical research and funds medical centres around the world.
