Get well soon! Uhuru visits ailing event organiser ahead of his surgery

Uhuru joined a long list of personalities who have visited the former event organizer to pass their regards and pray for Big Kev to regain his health.

Sources close to Big Kev family revealed the two had a chat that ended with Uhuru wishing him well and speedy recovery.

"He promised he would pray for him," one source said.

Award winning musician, Kidum also recently paid Big Kev a visit and sang an inspirational song 'Nipe Nguvu' at his bedside.

"Big Kev on his bed in Nairobi hospital told his family members that he would want to meet me before he is taken to a surgery! First, it was Bruce Odhiambo who told me about a concert at the Carnivore about raising the funds for our friend Big Kev...everyone was calling me about the message Big Kev wanted to give me on his hospital bed. I couldn't hold my tears after he spoke to me. God has spoken to me through him," he said.

The Kenyan entertainment fraternity has organised a fundraising dinner to raise funds for cater for medication of the ailing organiser at the Carnivore Simba restaurant next Friday.

Martin Mulwa, the vice chair of Event Managers Association of Kenya said they expect to host at least 500 people and raise a minimum of 20 Million.

“We are doing this as an industry and we have received a lot of support from the public. On the night we shall release an M-pesea pay bill number where anyone can donate from as little as Sh 10 to whatever amount they would want to donate to the cause”

Big Kev who is the founder of Tru Blaq has had a rough time since he fell ill in 2010; He has undergone more than seven surgeries to remove a recurrent head tumor.

Last year he lost his sight due to the numerous surgeries he had undergone, in what doctors described as drying up of the nerves that transmit light from the eye to the brain.

“The doctors call it optic atrophy. They say that the optic nerves dried up,” Big Kev wrote on his Facebook page on December 3, 2016 when he announced losing his sight.
