Billionaire businessman and former head of public service Jeremiah Kiereini on Tuesday passed on in Nairobi at the age of 90.

Kiereini was a long serving public servant who headed the public service during President Daniel arap Moi’s presidency in the early 1980s.
He later retired into business life, recently serving as the Chairman of CMC Motors.
Kiereini has also in the past been linked to blue chip companies including EABL (which earned EABL products the label Kiereini waters), CfC Stanbic Holdings, Liberty Holdings, and Unga Group.
The businessman leaves behind a widow, Emma Muringo Kiereini (the first African to become Chief Nursing Officer of Kenya), and three children.
He was a brother in law to Royal Media Services Chairman SK Mcharia and Kenya’s Ambassador to the US, Njeru Githae.
