The Bishop who works for the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA) has sent out invitations for his wedding set for June 29th.
The invite seen by Pulse Live Kenya shows that the man of God will wed Catherine Wangeci Thiong’o at AIPCA Muthwaini Church.
16-year marriage
The anticipated union has already become the talk of Nyeri County, partly because the Bishop’s ex-wife is a celebrity with notable gospel hit songs.
Regina and Bernard ended their marriage of 16 years after finalising their divorce in February this year which had been preceded by five years of separation.
The couple had three children aged 9, 15 and 19 years at the time of their divorce which the Bishop blamed on his wife saying she had left their matrimonial home in Nyeri and moved to Nairobi in 2014 where she is a successful musician.
Gachagua funeral
Regina grabbed national attention during the funeral of the first Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua on March 6, 2017.
Gachagua had in his death bed, requested that Regina perform the hit song Uyu Nowe Anga Tiwe at his funeral. The wish was honored at the live funeral service which was attended by national leaders led by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The musician has also released other Kikuyu hits includin Andu aria Athingu, meaning ‘those who are blessed;’ Kirai Muone; (wait and see); Mururumo (thunder), among many others.
