Ford-Kenya deputy party leader Boni Khalwale on Monday hit back at those who have been calling for disciplinary action against him after he sided with Deputy President William Ruto.

Khalwale accused the same senior party leaders including the party leader Moses Wetangula of meeting with the DP in private.

"I want to tell the Ford Kenya leadership that their integrity is at stake.

"Why should they visit Ruto at night and negotiate only to pretend during the day when they go back to Bungoma?

"Wetangula pretends during the day and later visits the DP at night," Khalwale accused.

A Friendship out of Necessity

Khalwale explained that he had decided to support the DP after evaluating the strength of his own party.

"Let people not be myopic, the current politics of Kenya entails that only coalitions of sorts will form the government. What can Ford Kenya alone do without working with others?

"They [Ford-K party leaders] should come out and say if not Ruto who do they want to work with? What I am doing is good for the party, the Luhya community, and the country," he stated.

DP Ruto was most recently spotted at the Malinya bullfighting competition in the company of the former Kakamega senator.
