Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalawale is in mourning following the death of his first wife.

Khalwale took to the social media to break the sad news of Adelaide Khalwale's death writing: "A sad morning. Death has just robbed my first wife".
Among the first to respond to the news was Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula who wrote: "My heartfelt condolences to my brother Bonny Khalwale and his family following the loss of his first wife. May the good Lord rest her soul in eternal peace. Amen!!"
Adelaide Khalwale, who was battling cancer, died at their Malinya home in Ikolomani, Kakamega county.
The body has been taken to Mukumu Hospital morgue awaiting funeral arrangements.
She had been battling cervical cancer since 2003.
Earlier this year, she was diagnosed with blood cancer but underwent treatment and was declared cancer free.
According to the former Kakamega senator, the deceased succumbed to pulmonary hypertension, which she developed a week ago.
Prior to her death, she worked as a secretary at Masinde Muliro University.
