The role of the dead ICT manager in the August election

Msando was to oversee the transmission of the August general elections results.

The late Msando was in charge of the ICT systems and data centre support at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

He was very instrumental in the new integrated electronic management system that was going to be used during the August elections and during his appearance on KTN, before he disappeared, he was explaining how IEBC would use the system to identify voters.

In addition to that Msando was to oversee the transmission of the August General Election results.

Msando replaced the commission's ICT Director James Muhati as the acting ICT Director in May after Muhati was sent on compulsory leave on accusations of failing to co-operate in an ongoing audit of the ICT systems.

Msando was also to conduct the live tests at the IEBC transmission simulation that was to take place at the Bomas of Kenya today at 3pm.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission was to conduct a simulation exercise to test the equipment that will be used during the August General Elections in order to ensure efficiency during the tallying process after voting on August 8th.
