The visit by the Education CS comes two days after the court issued orders to stop the planned strike by Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT).

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) had moved to court and obtained orders to temporarily halt the strike as they held discussions with KNUT.

The meeting failed to go as planned as it was claimed that TSC officials failed to show up.

The CS who is also an ambassador, reiterated that the roll out of the new curriculum was on schedule despite fears of delays.

Mohammed had earlier warned school heads against direct admission of Form Ones.

She further stated that the school principals should only admit students who had downloaded the letters from the ministry's website.

"Schools must admit students only through Nemis (National Education Management Information System), no school should violate the ministry guidelines.

“This way, we will get real time information for the students as they report," remarked the Education CS.

Mohammed pointed out that it was illegal to issue the Form 1 calling letters from the schools.
